Short version: what you type into a tool stays on your device. We never see it.
Tool inputs never leave your device
Every calculation runs in JavaScript in your own browser. Tool inputs are not in a form that submits anywhere, are not put in the web address, are not saved in cookies or browser storage, and are not sent to analytics, advertisers or us. Close or reload the page and they are gone.
What our web server sees
Like any website, our server receives standard request information when you load a page: your IP address, the page address, the time, and your browser type. This is kept in normal server logs for security and troubleshooting. It never includes your tool answers.
Fonts and scripts
Fonts and scripts are served from our own domain.
Visitor statistics
Our reading pages (the home page, the explainers under /learn/ and pages such as this one) use Google Analytics to count visits: which page was viewed, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. The tool, calculator and quiz pages do not load Google Analytics at all, so nothing you enter or any result is ever sent to it. To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
We plan to show display ads. If we do, this page will be updated first to explain which ad provider is used, what it collects, and how to opt out. Ad code will never have access to tool inputs or results.
Children
This site is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its last-reviewed date.
